Liam Everett Inutile
We had the pleasure of producing the color plates for the beautiful handcrafted book by artist Liam Everett.
Drawings by Everett trace and layer the forms of outdated hand tools, found by the artist in a studio outside Toulouse, France. Rust marks mix and stain the brittle sheets of a 60 year-old watercolor block found among the tools, leaving indexical fragments of now-obsolete utility, pushed to the point of abstraction. Images are presented alongside texts by Bruno Tollon—describing the history and purpose of the tools—and prose by Rabih Alameddine.
